Estimates and Bookings

How far in advance do I need to book my move?
Although we have a large network of trucks, drivers and labor services, the ArcBest Corporate Relocation service is based on availability. We can normally accommodate short notice moves, but we recommend that you book your move as early as possible to ensure availability.

How do I know how much space I will need?
Your MoveBuilder representative will ask you a specific set of questions to estimate the amount of space your move requires. Your answers to these questions will help the MoveBuilder representative determine how much space you will need. You can also use our space estimator tool to determine shipment size requirements.

What days are available for my equipment to be dropped off?
Your move date is the date that you wish to receive your equipment at your origin address. MoveBuilder can deliver your equipment Monday-Friday. We are not available to drop off equipment on Saturday, Sunday or holidays.

Can I schedule for my loading/unloading to crew to come on a weekend?
Labor crews are available to pack/load/unload Monday-Saturday. At this time we do not offer labor service on Sunday or holidays.

What if my move dates change?
Should your plans change, we will reschedule your move for your next available date.

Do you move other household goods in my trailer?
MoveBuilder shipments will only have one residential move per shipment. The remaining space will be filled with commercial shipments such as home electronics, children's toys or other dry goods.

What if I use more or less space than estimated?
Your shipment price will be adjusted after it is loaded. If more space is needed, your estimate will increase based on your per foot rate to reflect the actual footage used. If you use less space than what you originally estimated, a deduction will be made from the charges for the move.

Is there a deposit?
This is a commonly asked moving question and we are pleased to answer no, you never pay a deposit with ArcBest Corporate Relocation.

How do I pay for my move?
MoveBuilder offers direct billing for corporations who prefer to have MoveBuilder bill them once the move is complete. For those paying for their own move, MoveBuilder accepts all major credit card and debit cards. Cashier's check or money orders are accepted for Basic moves only. Payment is processed while your move is in transit to your destination.

Transport and Delivery

What are your equipment options and sizes?
MoveBuilder offers moving trailers and moving containers (the ReloCube). Trailers are 28 feet long, 8 feet wide and 9 feet tall. With the trailer option, you only pay for the space that you use. A ReloCube is 6 feet long, 7 feet wide and 8 feet tall. Each ReloCube will move approximately one room of furniture and is equivalent to 5 feet of the trailer.

How much space do I need to park the equipment?
To park the trailer, you will need to secure approximately 3-4 parking spaces. Each ReloCube requires a single parking space. Keep in mind you will need to obtain parking permission and/or a permit for your moving equipment prior to moving day. MoveBuilder recommends that you check with your Home Owners Association (if applicable), apartment complex manager or the local police department to see if parking permits are required.

How fast can I expect to get my household moved?
MoveBuilder offers fast transit times! You can move just about anywhere in the U.S. in 2-5 business days.

Am I able to track my shipment?
You can track your shipment by phone using the reference number listed on your paperwork. Simply call 800-940-9155 and a MoveBuilder consultant will be happy to assist you.

What about loss, damage or theft? Are my goods insured?
If you pack, load and unload your items yourself, they are covered by standard liability at $.10 per pound per piece. We recommend that you check with your homeowners insurance to see if additional moving insurance is available. If you opted for MoveBuilder Premium (packing, loading and unloading), your items are covered at full value coverage. Full Value Coverage provides repair, replacement or reimbursement of any items damaged while in MoveBuilder care. Ask your MoveBuilder representative or view our liability statement for additional information.

Are my items secure while in transit?
Yes. MoveBuilder will provide you with a bulkhead (security) wall to install once your items are loaded into the trailer. This wall separates your items from any commercial freight placed on the back of the trailer and will not be removed until your items arrive at your new home. Each trailer is locked while your items are in transit. If you move with a ReloCube, we recommend placing your own personal lock on the ReloCube. Your lock will remain on the ReloCube until you remove it at your final destination.

Am I required to be there when they drop off the equipment?
Yes. MoveBuilder requires that someone over the age of 18 be at the residence when the equipment is dropped off to show the driver where to park the equipment and also to sign the paperwork.

Packing and Loading

Who will pack and load my belongings?
MoveBuilder Premium includes packing and loading services. We only use experienced crews with a history in the moving industry and exemplary referrals. They are also trained and knowledgeable about MoveBuilder requirements.

What if I need help loading just the heavy items?
MoveBuilder offers hourly assistance through our Basic Plus service. A crew will come to your location and assist you for a predetermined amount of time (minimums vary based on location). Please keep in mind that packing materials are not provided by the crew with this option.

What does the "packing" service include?
Packing includes putting all items that can be boxed into industry-standard moving boxes supplied by a MoveBuilder crew.

How long will it take for packing?
Most households can be packed within a day or less.

What about special items that I am concerned about moving?
Custom crating is suggested for very special items, such as antiques, collectible etc. The crates are built on-site to specifically accommodate the item.

What does the "Loading/Unloading" service include?
With MoveBuilder Premium, loading/unloading includes placing all boxed and unboxed items inside the moving trailer or ReloCube at your origin location, and removing all boxed and unboxed items from the moving trailer or ReloCube at your destination location. It also includes basic disassembly and furniture prep (including wrapping and padding) along with basic reassembly at the destination and the removal of paper padding. All necessary tools such as appliance dollies, straps, etc. are provided by our crew.

How long will it take for loading and unloading?
Most households can be loaded within one day. However, if the loading requires additional days, our movers will accommodate you.

Am I required to be at residence while the crew is loading/unloading?
Yes. MoveBuilder requires that someone over the age of 18 be at the residence while the crew is loading/unloading to answer any questions the crew may have.
