Recent grads moving into new jobs
The job market is steadily gaining momentum and college graduates will be in a better position than their predecessors to find a job, according to the National Association of Colleges and Employers. Companies will hire 19.3 percent more graduates this year than they did in 2010, especially in the financial field.
Moving to a new place for a job is something most of these grads will have to contend with, according to Zillow.com. The average starting salary for recent graduates is around $40,000 and it is recommended that people not pay more than 25 percent of their salary on housing expenses. One of the most affordable cities to live in is Houston, Texas, according to Zillow. The strong job market has made Houston one of the fastest growing places in the country. The unemployment rate and cost of living are both below the national average, Zillow reports. For people more interested in relocating to the West Coast, Seattle and San Jose both offer relatively affordable places to live. While the cost of living is slightly higher in Seattle, the city is home to industry giants Amazon, Microsoft and Starbucks, which are all hiring, according to Zillow. More News |
