Massachusetts had an increase in private sector jobs in June
It would appear that the workforce situation in Massachusetts is improving.

Even so, experts expressed caution moving forward, as the state has not totally recovered from the economic slide. The state added 500 new jobs in June from the previous month, boosted by 3,400 new jobs in the private sector. As a result, the state's unemployment rate fell to 9.0 percent, down from 9.2 percent in May, reported the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development.

That lower unemployment rate could be the result of many people losing confidence and giving up on job searches altogether, the report warned. The pace of growth is slowing down, but still generally better than the rest of the country, reported the Boston Globe.

"With six straight months of private sector job growth ... Massachusetts continues to lead the nation out of this recession," said Governor Deval Patrick. "Still, I know that there are too many people looking for work. For them and for our future, we will keep pushing forward."

An improving job market could be good news for people who have had an interest in moving to the Bay State.
