Colorado is home to three of the top ten mid-market cities to move to
People who are looking for a high quality of life outside America's largest cities might want to look towards Colorado.
That state had three cities on Portfolio.com's list for best mid-sized markets to live in. Boulder topped the list, with Fort Collins and Colorado Springs coming in third and seventh, respectively. Denver made the list for best large market cities, coming in sixth. The business news website ranked markets based off the health of the local economy, costs of living, traffic, housing stocks and local education systems. "Boulder has attracted a young, highly educated workforce," said analyst G. Scott Thomas, adding that more than half of the city's workers hold management or professional positions that pay the highest salaries. Utah was also well represented, with Provo coming in second and Ogden coming in fifth on the list. Madison, Wisconsin was fourth and Holland and Ann Arbor, Michigan were sixth and eighth, respectively. Des Moines, Iowa and Manchester, New Hampshire rounded out the list. Many of the medium-sized markets compare favorably to larger cities when it comes to quality of life, commanding the attention of interested movers.
