The new "green" office and residential development in Boston will include solar panels on the roof.
Those interested in moving into a cutting-edge eco-friendly complex may want to head to Boston, where a Danish Architect has released plans for a sustainable mixed-use building, according to World Architecture News.
The building, which will be called Boston Fusion, will be a water-front property on a hillside and will house both office and residential spaces. According to architect Christian Bay-Jorgensen, the style will be "in line with the modern office buildings of Boston's finance district." The design entails 195,000 square meters and 17 floors with rooftop terraces and green roofs. The green roof technology binds pollutants in the air and helps to relieve sewage pressures on the city, according to the news source. Other advanced technologies include air-purifying roof felt, heat-generating roofs and a solar-cell roof that can produce electric power. Bay-Jorgensen told the source his novel use of rooftops is necessary "in a time with drastic climate change and thus a natural need for energy saving procedures and development of sustainable solutions." Those looking for work may benefit from moving to a city where "green" development is on the rise, as the industry is expected to create a number of jobs in the near future, according to the Muncie Star Press.
