Morrison's LA home has hit the market
Homebuyers now have the opportunity to move into the home of a musical legend.
The Laurel Canyon home of the Doors' late lead singer, Jim Morrison, is for sale for $1,199,000, reported financial website Zillow.com. Nicknamed the "Love Street home" after a ballad Morrison wrote for his girlfriend Pamela Courson, the home is located in an area rich in music history. Graham Nash, Brian Wilson, and Joni Mitchell were among the rock greats that shared Morrison's neighborhood, said the website. Anyone who moved into the property would enjoy its rustic architecture and open feel, with hardwood floors, dark wooden and iron furnishings, and multiple patios and terraces. An outdoor fire pit and workout area has stunning views of Laurel Canyon. Morrison wrote much of his music in the three-bedroom, two-bathroom home, and some say that some of his writings can still be found on the property, behind a bathroom wall, said Zillow.com. Moving into the home would place a homebuyer in a city that's seen some positive housing growth recently. Year-over-year home prices in Los Angeles rose 9.7 percent, according to Standard & Poor's.
