People are moving in Las Vegas again
The number of homes sold last month in Las Vegas grew slightly compared to one year ago, according to the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors. Condo and townhouse sales were up 3.9 percent and single-family homes sold 4.5 percent more than last year.
"All things considered, I think we had a pretty good April," said GLVAR President Paul Bell, a longtime local realtor. "Easter, tax season and spring break all fell into April this year. Given all these activities and how they tend to slow home sales, I think our local sales numbers were strong." Roughly 24 percent of the available single-family homes in Southern Nevada have sold since 2008, according to the news source. If sales keep moving in this direction, 35 percent of the available inventory will be turned over by next year. That would be one of the highest sales rates in the country. Housing prices only dropped 0.8 percent from March to April, but were down 12 percent from last year, according to the news source. More News |
