The National Association of Realtors is teaming up with charities to provide care packages and moving assistance for U.S. soldiers.
This holiday season, the National Association of Realtors is pairing up with two national charities to provide care packages and relocation assistance for American troops in the U.S. and overseas, the NAR reported.
One of the charities, USA Cares, is a nonprofit that provides financial counseling and grants to U.S. veterans, troops on active duty, and their families. The organization also offers guidance and assistance to troops who may be buying a home or facing foreclosure in the current housing market. The NAR is also supporting Operation American Soldier, a charity that sends care packages and letters to soldiers stationed overseas. “During this Thanksgiving and holiday seasons the [NAR] family would like to recognize the tremendous sacrifice by our service men and women, as well as their families,” said president Ron Phipps, adding that servicemen and women defend the American dream that the NAR works to make into a reality. In September Fannie Mae and the U.S. Army partnered up to provide assistance to soldiers facing foreclosure, granting a six month forbearance to military families unable to meet their mortgage payments due to the death or injury of an active service member.
