Stained glass windows are just a few of the unusual amenities homeowners would enjoy in this San Francisco home
With a little creativity, just about any space can be made into a home - even a church.
The person who moves into the single-family home at 601 Dolores Street in San Francisco will likely have the most talked-about house on the block. That's because the building, on sale for a cool $7.5 million, was once a church, reported real estate website Zillow.com. Built in 1910, the Misson District gothic-style home has the distinct look of a place of worship and features a "breathtaking living room with soaring, coffered, hand-painted ceilings with seven magnificent chandeliers, beautiful stained glass windows, as well as impressive arched windows framing Dolores Park," said Zillow.com. The property also features a tower with a private office and a solarium that offers 360 degree views of the city, as well as a parking garage for four to six cars. At 17,000 square feet, the three-bedroom, two-and-a-half bath residence might seem a bit too drafty, but the website said that state-of-the-art renovations have made the space much more cozy. Moving into such a property might seem unusual for most, but buyers that make some creative updates can make any unconventional space into an inviting home.
