Realtors using technology to their advantage
Gone are the days when people searching for a new home would simply open up the Sunday paper. As the worldwide population trends toward a more electronic lifestyle people are using Twitter and Facebook to track down prospective relocation destinations, according to The Boston Globe.

"There’s been a paradigm shift, because we’re really in an information-hungry society right now. Buyers want information, and they want it a minute ago," Paleo Taranto, a broker with Gibson Sotheby's International Realty in Weston, told the paper.

People what to know the details of a property instantly and real estate brokers want to get that information to them just as quickly, according to the Globe. Brokers are beginning to use quick response codes on their for sale signs that can be scanned by smartphones.

QR codes can upload information on properties, including video and photos, directly to the potential home buyers phone, according to Realtor Magazine. They can also be used on business cards to get contact information to people more easily.

Ninety percent of people in the market for a new home do research online, up from 2 percent in 1995, according to the National Association of Reators.
