A Russian billionaire recently purchased the most expensive home sold in U.S. history.
A Russian billionaire recently purchased a $100 million home in Los Alito Hills, California, marking the most expensive home ever sold in U.S. History, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The house was sold to Russian technology executive Yuri Millner, who reportedly paid a $50 million cash down payment for the property. The other half of the balance was financed by the seller. The limestone home is reportedly about 30,000 square feet and is styled after an 18th century French Chateau. Though there is no word on when Millner plans on hiring a moving company and getting situated in his new luxury digs, the purchase of the home itself has been a news-worthy event and speaks to the success of the luxury real estate industry in comparison to the rest of the housing market.. Coincidentally, the sale of this $100 million home occurred during the same time span as the sale of the most expensive condo in New York City history. The condo was sold for $48 million towards the end of March 2011, and was also purchased by a native of Russia. More News |
