The legendary senator passed away last August
Interested buyers have the chance to move into the former home of a political legend.
Victoria Kennedy, widow of the late Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy, has put the couple's Washington D.C. home on the market, reported the Wall Street Journal. Ms. Kennedy had been "quietly shopping" the property around before formally listing it for sale at $7,995,000. The six-bedroom, 8,900-square-foot Colonial comes with a wine cellar, a sunroom, and terraces. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and walk-in closet, and the expansive dining room can seat 50 guests. The Kennedys bought the home, which is located in Kalorama in the northwest part of town, for $2.78 million back in 1998, according to the report. Though the price tag could be out of many homebuyer's range, any person who moved into the home would have plenty of company from fellow out-of-towners. According to RealEstate Business Intelligence, the Mid-Atlantic region and particularly the District of Columbia saw an increase in home sales in June. That might indicate that more people are finding the area a desirable place to move to.
