Attractive photos are more likely to catch the eye of people surfing online real estate listings
People who are intent on selling their home and moving can make the most of their real estate listing by appealing to a buyer's senses.
Newsday advised that sellers keep their real estate listings updated with fresh photographs that give buyers an idea of what the home looks like at different seasons of the year. Krae Van Sickle with the Corcoran Group told the paper that many buyers make their judgments on a home based on the photographs they see in a real estate listing, increasing the importance of keeping it updated with recent photographs. Sellers can also take a look at other nearby relocating families that are listing their homes, said the paper. Sometimes observing how other sellers are marketing their homes and borrowing some of the more appealing design aspects can help sellers enhance their own listing. Even making small changes to the wording of an online real estate listing can give it a fresher look, said the paper. If none of these changes work and the home has sat on the market for a long time, the seller may have to consider adjusting their asking price. Seattle-based brokerage Redfin also advised relocating families to ensure that they price their home competitively in its first week, which is when the listing is most likely to receive high amounts of online traffic.
