Diners at Papa Razzi will have to go to its new location on Newbury St.
Long considered an institution on Boston's Dartmouth Street, Papa Razzi Trattoria & Bar is closing its doors and moving.
The restaurant has since expanded to 11 other locations around the country, but its original location opened in 1990 at 271 Dartmouth Street in Boston, reported the Boston Globe. This week, the flagship Papa Razzi will shut down, relocating next week to its new home at 159 Newbury Street. The Italian restaurant will take the former home of Bouchee, a French restaurant that closed last week and is looking for a new location in the Back Bay area, said the Globe. Meanwhile, the employees at Papa Razzi will be able to stretch their legs in a location that is much larger and features two levels of floorspace. Management will also celebrate the occasion by offering an expanded menu, including some of Bouchee's signature dishes. "It's an opportunity for us to bring Papa Razzi into a fresh new environment," Amy Daniels, spokesperson for the Back Bay Area Restaurant Group, told the paper. The restaurant is relocating to one of Boston's most popular retail spots. Newbury Street is frequented by shoppers for its high-end fashion, top-notch restaurants and chic salons and stylists.
