Many corporations offer employees relocation assistance
Given the state of the economy, many workers are more than willing to relocate for a job. However, moving costs can be expensive once a person factors in the price of hiring a moving company, purchasing a new home and adjusting to the new standard of living in a different area.
However, many employees of larger companies may receive some type of relocation assistance, according to Bloomberg News. Traditional relocation assistance usually includes the cost of packing materials, hiring a moving company and transporting the individual's belongings to the new location. A new trend is being seen with some corporations that are now not only providing relocation assistance, but also helping employees secure loans to purchase a home in their new area, Bloomberg reports. Individuals who are relocating for a current or new job should look into their company's policy on relocation assistance. Companies that provide this type of aid may have a loyal relationship in place with a local moving company, but others may allow the individual to shop around and choose their own.
