Love will rent for now until her credit improves
The widow of rock legend Kurt Cobain is considering moving to New York City's West Village. Financial troubles are preventing singer Courtney Love from buying a home, and instead she plans to rent until she can rebuild her credit, reported the New York Daily News. She has spent the better part of the last year living at the Mercer Hotel in New York's SoHo district, but has her heart set on an apartment in the West Village, telling the Daily News that it's the only potential relocation spot she will consider. She told the paper that she was a victim of identity theft and that she was sued by American Express for $350,000, which the credit card company said she owed them. Those issues have left her credit in a state of disarray, and she has taken to only using debit cards. She expects that her credit will be fully repaired in four months. Though she will rent for now, Love is determined to become a homeowner once again, said the report. Adequate credit is necessary for any consumer who hopes to move into a newly-purchased home.
