Washington D.C. has the second most available jobs per capita, according to Indeed.
Those who are interested in moving to a large city and starting a new career may want to cross New Orleans off their list of options, according to Indeed.

The employment search and job-trend company listed New Orleans as the most difficult city in which to find a job out of the 50 most populous cities in the United States. The rankings were determined based on information from the Bureau of Labor Statistics listing job openings available per capita. According to Indeed, New Orleans has 25 job postings per 1,000 people. Though the warm weather and palm trees in Miami may also make it appealing as a relocation destination, the city comes in second with 29 postings per 1000 people.

Those searching for work in a new place will have better luck in San Jose, where the Silicon Valley's many technologically based corporations provide 162 job postings per 1000 people. In second place is Washington, D.C., with 160 postings per 1,000 residents, with 33 positions more than the third place city, Baltimore.

Indeed's CEO, Paul Forster, told Forbes that, although there was a considerable decline in the amount of job postings in 2009, jobs steadily began to increase in 2010, and he expects to see more improvement in employment in 2011.
