Expansion forces clinical services firm to change buildings

A Massachusetts healthcare IT company will relocate its headquarters.

EClinicalWorks of Westborough will transfer its 1,100 employees to a larger location in town, said CEO Girish Kumar Navani. The company has outgrown its current location on 112 Turnpike Road and will instead join a number of other technology companies at a complex on Westborough's Technology Drive.

The clinical systems company has experienced "phenomenal" success in recent years and the new building "will permit immediate and future growth," said Navani. Last year, revenues exceeded $100 million for the first time in company history.

The new headquarters at 2 Technology Drive will occupy 100,000 square feet and is expected to be completed at the beginning of 2011, said Navani. The company's growth will allow it to add 100 to 200 new jobs over the next year, reported the Boston Globe.

EClinicalWorks benefits from making a short move two miles down Route 9 in Westborough, but transferring over 1,000 employees will still pose a challenge. The company's facilities, equipment, and employees would be protected by commercial and business moving insurance.
