Lohan is currently staying at a UCLA rehabilitation center
After a stint in jail and some time in rehab, Lindsay Lohan could be looking for a fresh start on the East Coast.
The controversial actress's mother, Dina Lohan, told the Today Show's Matt Lauer Friday morning that her daughter will be moving to back to New York once she completes a three-month stint in rehab. Lohan recently spent 14 days behind bars after receiving a 90-day jail sentence for probation violation, which stemmed from a 2007 drug incident. Now out of jail and spending time at a Los Angeles rehabilitation center, Lohan will likely leave the West Coast at the nearest possible opportunity. "She's been through a lot," Dina Lohan told Lauer. "The judge played hardball. Lindsay was in with alleged murderers and she's become friends with a lot of them. Lindsay rolled with the punches and she's doing wonderfully." Lohan also deflected Lauer's questioning of her daughter's behavior, saying that many of Lindsay's mistakes were overblown by the media. Living in New York, Lohan will likely still find herself hounded by the media. But moving there and away from negative influences at her old home might help make her life in the Big Apple less stressful.
