Preparation may help people avoid some of the stress of moving.
Moving can be notoriously stressful, but, according to the Lansing State Journal, there are steps homeowners can take before the big move that may help make it a smoother, simpler experience.

One of the Journal's tips is to find free moving boxes online. Packing can be very expensive and, according to the source, finding people who recently moved and need to get rid of their boxes may be a simple solution.

Hiring trustworthy movers is also a part of the process that can put a homeowner's mind at ease, the source says.

"Do not ever hire movers that you have not personally met and researched," the source says. "Your movers should be both uniformed and respectful to you and your possessions."

Packing smart may also reduce the stress involved in the moving process. This involves multi-tasking and using items to suit multiple purposes, so more compact packing can be achieved. Also, packing a separate box of resources that may be immediately needed when moving into the new home and placing it in an easily accessible area may help reduce the stress of not being able to find a necessity.
