Good public school systems are not just for the wealthy
Forbes Magazine and GreatSchools, an organization that provides parents and teachers with information on schools throughout the country, published their best places to live report this week. The list shows potential homeowners and parents where the best public schools are in different economic brackets, and is intended to assist with relocation decisions, according to Forbes.
The study found that the best schools per capita are not in super-wealthy areas, but in places where the average housing costs range from $200,000 to $399,999 per family. Taking the top spot in the nation is Falmouth, Maine. The district disburses an Apple laptop for every middle school student and boasts a low teacher turnover rate, according to the news source. "This list is a virtual treasure trove for both families and real estate professionals who want information on schools and single family homes at their finger tips," explained Bill Jackson, CEO and president of GreatSchools, quoted by the news source.
