The NFL draft breathes new light into teams across the country
The NFL draft has once again shocked and amazed football fans everywhere, according to ESPN. There was little speculation that Auburn's Heisman Trophy winning quarterback, Cam Newton, would go to Carolina in the first round but when Florida State quarterback Christian Ponder was taken number 12 by the Minnesota Vikings, experts were baffled, according to the news source.
Newton, whose character and accuracy have been called into question, assured Panther fans that he is determined to study diligently and take their team to next level, according to NBC. Raliegh fans have been hopeful before, but the team believes he is the right man for the job, according to Mercury News. As Ponder moves all the way from sunny Tallahassee, Florida, to the brutal Minnesota winters, experts are left wondering if the Vikings picked out of panic after finally giving up on the new Brett Favre era, according to ESPN. Criss-crossing the country in the opposite direction, and relocating from Washington to Tennessee, is another surprise choice-quarterback Jake Locker to the Tennessee Titans. The Titans have a new head coach for the first time in 17 years and he is clearly making his stamp on the organization, according to NBC. More News |
